The book's first story is Seb the Seahorse, about a young seahorse who worries that he will never be as fast as his friend Gina the goby, or as beautiful as Willow the worm, or build a nest as well as Wesley the wrasse. But one day, using his special strong tail, he saves his friends, and comes to realise that we are all special in our own way.
The book's second story is Olive the Octopus, about an octopus who turns detective to find out who has been eating all of the seaweed in their giant kelp forest. She hides and spots lots of different sea creatures, but soon works out that it must been down to animals with purple spines – the sea urchins.

But when they get there, Winnie enjoys eating krill and meeting new animals. And she grows bigger and stronger, ready for the return journey.
