How to… draw a submarine by Simon Abbott
Many of our Convertibles have been illustrated by the UK illustrator Simon Abbott, who brings the vehicles to life in colourful detail. To celebrate the release of Convertible Submarine, Simon kindly shared his artistic secrets and a step-by-step guide for drawing your very own submarine.
Now you and your child can have a go...
Draw the body of the submarine. It looks like a balloon on its side!
Add a front and end section to the body.
Add fins and connections to the submarine.
Draw the periscope and propellers on so you can see where you are going.
Draw a nice big porthole to look out of.
Add details to the submarine so that it looks life-like.
Finish by drawing yourself inside!
