Reading with Fairytales: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs retells the traditional story a girl called Snow White who runs away when her stepmother, the queen, orders for a woodcutter to take her into the forest and kill her, all because her magic mirror tells the queen that she is no longer the fairest of them all – Snow White is. Snow White comes across a cottage where seven dwarfs lived and they invited her to stay. When the magic mirror tells the queen that Snow White is still alive, she dresses up as an old lady and offers her a poisoned apple. Snow White eats some and falls into a deep sleep, only to be awoken when a prince knocks the apple from her mouth.
Reading with Fairytales: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs helps to boost your child's reading skills by giving them an opportunity to hear the main story read aloud by a grown-up, to read a simple sentence together, and to interact with the illustration with Can You Spot? activities.
Other activities also include a retelling the story activity (an important skill for Key Stage 1), a picture quiz, a rhyming words task and a picture dictionary to spot and learn from.
