What is World Book Day 2016 all about?

February 17, 2016

World Book Day, on 3 March each year, is a celebration of books and of reading all over the world. “The main aim of World Book Day in the UK and Ireland is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.” World Book Day achieves this through a partnership with National Book Tokens Ltd, who generously provide vouchers for exclusive £1 books for children.

Miles Kelly is getting involved by creating their own ‘World Book Day books’ and lowering the prices of their Little Press First Q&A series. From 22 February to 13 March children can get 5 new books for £5 including free UK delivery – just use code WORLDBOOKDAY at the checkout!

Our First Q&A series is the perfect introduction to key subjects for children aged 5+. Each book contains lots of interesting facts, questions, activities and images. Children can choose from an array of subjects including Big Cats, Planet Earth and Prehistoric Life.

You could also win our amazing First Q&A 10-pack on 3 March, World Book Day 2016, on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
