How to... plan the perfect princess party!

March 05, 2015

Break out the glitter; we’ve got carriages full of fantastic princess party ideas to inspire you to throw the best party ever!

First things first, party invitations
A party is no fun unless you have people to share it with, so why not send out wonderful, creative invitations that will get your attendees excited about your celebration. Create crown-shaped invitations, with added diamantes or attached a small wand for people to bring with them to the party. If you are really creative, you could make royal scrolls to accordingly invite your guests and don’t forget to let them know if they should dress as princes and princesses!

Perfect princess decorations
Deciding what to use to decorate your princess party can seem difficult but we’ve got some simple suggestions to help you along. Use pink, white and purple balloons to create balloon turrets at the entrance of your party, source a large mirror to hang on the wall or create simple centrepieces using vases filled with sweets, wands and tiaras. Add sparkle to the tables by decorating plastic cutlery with small diamantes and little pearl bracelets as napkin rings.

Food time
Princess-themed food can be easily achieved by adapting classic party foods. Make sandwiches into the shape of crowns, turn fruit kebabs into magical wands, or create princess popcorn by coating plain popcorn with melted white chocolate and adding multi-coloured sprinkles and edible glitter. If you want to be really adventurous, why not bake a carriage or princess castle cake!

Fun and games
No party is complete without some fun and games! Have a craft area where partygoers can make and decorate their own crowns and a makeover station where they can have their nails and make-up done. Create a balloon-popping wand game (see picture below) or have a castle-shaped piñata.

Pretty party bags
Thank your guests for coming by creating party bags. Adding a crown and some jewels to a plain paper bag can make simple party favours. Fill your bags with wonderful treats such as sweets, magic fairy dust, princess-themed stationery and bubbles!
