World Book Day is approaching its 18th year and every year Miles Kelly do something different to mark the occasion. Last year, we arranged a secret book giver event with some great mummy bloggers and this year we’ve decided to spread the joy of reading with a campaign called ‘Buy one, donate one’ for World Book Day 2015.
On 5 March, customers will be able to purchase Miles Kelly’s books as usual but with the added benefit of donating an extra book to the ReadWell charity when they check out.
How will it work?Every book purchased on the Miles Kelly website on 5 March will represent another book to be donated to the ReadWell charity, without any extra cost for the customer. If you buy one book, we’ll donate one book. If you buy five books, we’ll donate five books, and so on.We will try and provide the exact same book to the charity each time where possible, but if we cannot, a very similar match will be made. Who is ReadWell?
ReadWell, a division of Readathon, is a charity dedicated to providing happiness to tens of thousands of UK children who are hospitalised with serious or prolonged illnesses, through the joy of books and storytelling.
Sustained illness brings a whole host of disadvantaging factors, including substantial time away from education, as well as physical pain and emotional trauma. ReadWell’s goal is to reach 95% of children in UK hospitals by the end of this year. So simply buy a book for your child to donate a book to a child in hospital and celebrate World Book Day 2015.
