Make! A hippopotamus bookend

Make Safari Animals – Make series – Miles KellyIf your New Year's resolution is to encourage the kids to read more, one way of getting them excited about books is by helping them to make their own bookend! Kids can store their new books with this hippopotamus bookend that's really fun to make.

 You will need:

  1. Acrylic paint – grey, pink, black
  2. Card – scraps of thick
  3. 4 card tubes (3 cm x 3 cm)
  4. Eye stickers
  5. Glue brush
  6. Masking tape
  7. Newspaper 
  8. Paintbrush
  9. Paper towel
  10. Pebbles – 1 about 12cm long, 1 about 8 cm long
  11. PVA glue
  12. Scissors
