This week, to celebrate our new My Fairytale Time and My Rhyme Time books, Miles Kelly is going on a Kids' Story Time Tour, visiting local nurseries to spread the joy of reading to children. Our aim is to encourage their love of reading with our stunning picture books for kids.
Designed for preschool children aged 3+, these books showcase classic fairy tales and nursery rhymes, with large, simple text and beautiful, full-page illustrations to help young children learn to read and build vocabulary.
The team at Miles Kelly believes that inspiring children to read from a young age is important and that reading at home is beneficial to a toddler’s overall learning progress. The Reading Agency states that ‘Only 1 in 5 parents easily find the opportunity to read to their children’ and that ‘parents are the most important reading role models for children and young people’. The Reading Agency explains that reading for pleasure, as an extra-curricular activity outside of school, is an important factor in a child’s cognitive development and can have a major impact on a child’s knowledge potential and their contribution to society. Reading is not purely about education, but developing children into well-rounded human beings with motivation, goals and self-belief. It is essential to get children reading as much as they can before they go to school, but we know it’s not as easy as it sounds to get them interested!
