Rights Assistant vacancy

We are looking for an enthusiastic multi-tasking graduate to work in our very busy international rights department.
You will need to have excellent administrative skills, be able to prioritise and have strong attention to detail. An interest in dealing with international markets and clients is important. Languages would be useful but not essential.

The position is full time.

Working closely with the Rights Director you will organise our attendance at all the major book fairs, which include: the Bologna Book Fair, the London Book Fair, Book Expo America, the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Guadalajara Book Fair.
You will also be involved in providing administrative and technical support to the department as necessary.

As part of your role, you will:

  • Organise our attendance at all the major bookfairs we attend. This will include dealing directly with the bookfair organisers in each country.
  • Manage the logistics for all members of staff attending the events.
  • Manage the stock and display material needed for the exhibitions.
  • Provide support for any additional sales trips required by the team.
  • Draft contracts and update rights department databases.
  • Provide samples and materials to clients.

Miles Kelly is an independent children's book publisher. Founded in 1996, the team produces modern, appealing books, ebooks and apps for children of all ages, including non-fiction series such as 100 Facts – now with more than 80 titles – as well as classic fiction such as Sleeping Beauty and Alice in Wonderland.

As we are based just outside the town in Thaxted, Essex, your own transport is essential.
