Marketing Assistant vacancy

We're looking for a creative, self-motivated graduate to work on our marketing and promotional campaigns. Working closely with the Marketing Director and the creative team, you will produce marketing material such as press releases and sales sheets, as well as come up with creative ideas to generate publicity for our printed and digital books.

You will have an eye for detail and excellent writing skills, and be able to turn your hand to writing interesting, informative blogs, as well as formal press releases. You must have an interest in children's fact books and reading.

The position is full time.

As part of your role, you will:

  • Manage our website, including uploading new products, writing detailed product descriptions and blogs, and preparing activity sheets for kids
  • Manage our social media accounts, and come up with creative ideas to interact with followers and encourage new followers
  • Organise book events, such as 'Be an editor' workshops
  • Write press releases for upcoming publications, events and news
  • Liaise with the media and bloggers on our campaigns
  • Project manage our digital book sales systems, including uploading new products and writing detailed product descriptions
  • Attend book-related events

Miles Kelly is an independent children's book publisher. Founded in 1996, the team produces modern, appealing books, ebooks and apps for children of all ages, including non-fiction series such as 100 Facts – now with more than 80 titles – as well as classic fiction such as Sleeping Beauty and Alice in Wonderland.

As we are based just outside the small town of Thaxted, Essex, your own transport is essential.
